You already know that the best way to stay healthy is to maintain a balanced diet. Apart from the proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins that you need every day, there’s also calcium. For solid bones, ensure you get a daily supply – two or three dairy products a day will provide you with all the calcium your body requires.
The different sources of calcium
Downing a glass of milk may not be your thing, but you needn’t worry about calcium deficiency because there are lots of other ways to get your daily dose of calcium. Dairy yoghurts are a good source, as are all your favourite milk-based dishes, such as cauliflower or macaroni cheese, rice pudding and even pancakes ! You can cook your meals in a Vitacuisine steamer, then garnish with some grated cheese or a knob of butter. And don’t forget that other foods are also very good sources of calcium, including oily fish, nuts, eggs and even spinach !
Did you know ? Vitamin D helps to fix calcium in our bones. So get as much sunlight as you can, while obviously protecting your eyes and skin !
